I love historical romance novels.  I will probably never say that aloud with complete confidence in adult company but here in my little sanctuary, I say it with more than secret pride.  At the age of 8, I read Lady Reluctant by Maggie Osbourne.  I cringed at the kissy parts, chuckled everytime the heroine uttered “God’s bloody balls” and sighed like a well fed cat at the ending.  It was all downhill from there.  My aunt, a super reader, had an endless supply of Harlequin novels.  My father brought home boxes of the stuff.  For better or for worse, historical romance novels have shaped my idea of love.
